For most situations, common sense will tell you what to avoid. Hard, crunchy and sticky chewy foods should be avoided in order to prevent breaking or damaging your wires and brackets. Chewing or biting on items such as fingernails, pens or pencils must be avoided to prevent damage as well. Minimizing sugary foods may also help reduce tooth decay and related problems. We recommend you check for loose brackets daily while brushing. In the event of a loose/broken bracket or wire call our office to arrange an appointment for repair.
